MY FIRST VIDEOGAME

Initial idea

The first idea for my first video game was a crazy and dynamic adventure, where the player would write the history of humanity. This history would begin in ancient times, at the beginning of human beings, and would continue into the future, a future that would be marked by each decision that the player would make, from the possibility of starting or avoiding wars or different ideas such as the invention of the wheel (or not) or the discovery of electricity (or not), with hundreds of different scenarios. Something like parallel worlds. Would you live in a world without mirrors or in a world where ships never existed? How would you get to America?

The design

Looking for the best for beginners, I decided to start with Unity, of course I had already played video games developed on this platform in the past, so I gave it a try. With an online course I got enough basic knowledge to get started.

The final project

College starts and in a second semester class, one of the activities to do was a “Creative Project”, of course I saw it as an opportunity to pass and even stand out in class. So I took as a starting point the little I had about the initial video game project mentioned above, of course it was going to be impossible to do something like that in such a short time and with limited knowledge. The creative project had to be about a topic assigned to each student, the topic I got was “IBM and the Great Mainframes in History”, I needed something simple but interesting, so it occurred to me that the game could be something short, a job interview, where the player had to prepare for the interview, go to the site and do the interview, simple. Finally, I would like to add that this game has a couple of bugs and of course there is room for improvement, but the time frame to finish it was very short, so if you encounter any, just restart the game.
